Brooke, you continue to inspire me...since the first post and photo of yours I ever saw. I have learned so much from you and just want to say thanks! I have a bond to nature that most don't understand, but I know that you do. I see how you are doing what you love, and that love is what success is. When you put so much out there, you have to go back within and "fill the well" so to speak. I have never met you, but have read so many of your thoughts and seen your creative live videos ect., that I feel like we are friends. Wishing you the best and a Happy New Year!

In reply to <a href="https://www.promotingpassion.com/the-things-we-think-we-know/#comment-54836">John</a>.

Yes John I totally agree - so much wisdom in those quotes, but definitely not for all situations. I think that one of the most comforting ideas to me is not so much that we make the situation our own, but that we can choose how we react to any situation - maybe not at first, and maybe not easily, but in the end our reaction is how we perceive so many situations.

What a refreshingly honest and insightful post. I particularly like your thoughts on the notion of entitlement. There is some wisdom in those two quotations, but I don't think they apply to a number of situations. I think there are many situations where it is important to--in a sense--accept the situation but not necessarily accept it as if you had chosen it. Losing a child or being the victim of a rape would be two clear examples.

I also like the two quotes you mentioned and both tell me a lot. Life is just that. Sometimes, I'm facing situations that make me reflect on my person and make me know how I am. And one of the things that surprised me recently, is that when I think that I'm arrive to my limit, I find that I still have the strength to go further. And you have contributed to it as well. So, thank you! I wish that you feel better. We adore you. A big hug.

I'm so glad you made it back safely <3
You are one of the most humble people I know and you inspire me in so many ways. It's incredible that you'd give yourself the time to ponder on these things but not dwell on them, and also still figure out how to deal with them. I really hope you start feeling better soon, sending you lots and lots of hugs!
